I've never believed in bad luck on Friday the 13th....but I'm pretty sure now I do. The news came on my way to pick up my oldest from the bus stop, my youngest was already in the car. I remember making four calls/texts at pickup. Bryan, my mom, my coworker and my boss. I didn't know how or what to tell Bryan except that I needed him. I knew I needed to be with him and my mom that afternoon while the appointments came in. Bryan left work as soon as he could and met me at my moms. I texted my coworker to tell her I finally had the results and I didn't know if I would be able to make a mandatory budget meeting the next day-could she cover for me. And I finally realized it was a mandatory meeting I needed to be there but mentally didn't know if I could so I needed to let my boss know why. I got to my moms around 3:30pm-just a half hour after I had gotten the news. The phone calls started, appointments for the following week, to and from my pcp for something to help my anxiety and next steps for my care. By 5:00 I had an appointment scheduled for a full ct scan on Monday. I knew then I couldn't make all the phone calls to my sisters, Bryan's parents etc. My mom immediately took on calling my sisters with any and all updates. Bryan called his parents and updated them. The weekend went by slowly, I was still in a state of shock. Monday seemed so far away.
