It’s been a wild week and so much to say. I got home last Wednesday and took the rest of the week to heal my lungs, rest, and heal. I didn’t realize how much I had been through until after you go through it. My lung felt like it was bruised, I started coughing (before the hospital I only coughed when the blood came up). Mentally I felt like I had been through a lot.
Easter was low key. We visited both sets of grandparents. Heidi came to the rescue again this year with the bunny footprints. Michelle got the golden eggs. And mom rescued me with the baskets. The boys had a great time! Bryan and I filled eggs on Saturday night-hide them Sunday and Trent proclaimed it as the hardest Easter Egg Hunt yet. I question how much he still believes but he was a good champ and hasn’t said anything in front of his brother!
Monday I started with the appointments. 2 down this week 1 to go. Next week brings another 2. I met with the radiologist oncologist. I have a spot that think has mutated (its still glowing on the PET Scan). They need to figure out a couple of things before confirmation of radiation.
Tuesday I saw my pulmonologist. Dr S. I can’t speak highly enough of her. She is kind, caring, understanding of my concerns. She tells me everytime I see her how much she is rooting for me. This week she told me that a lot of people are talking about me. And although some might have different opinions on my course of treatment one thing they can agree on is they are all rooting for me. They all genuinely care about my wellbeing. It’s nice to know that I am not just another number.
Tomorrow I see the infectious disease doctor to get his opinion on all this.
Next week I have two of my three scans schedule for this month. Although, I’ve had three ct scans already since the beginning of March I still worry. Scanxiety is real. I know Dr P will call if anything is found (or not found) I don’t meet with him until a week after my scan.
I had a board member drop off Cadbury eggs (pre rationed lol-the little bags) I couldn’t be more thankful. Last week one of trents friends grandmother made us dinner so I didn’t have to cook when I got home with a bag of Cadbury eggs. A friend down the street has organized meals for every Thursday-which has been a tremendous help since by Thursday afternoon I come home put on jammies and nap. My sister in law sent a Starbucks gift card and Cadbury eggs to get me through the hospital stay! I talked to a friend from when we lived at the condo and she will be joining us at the walk. Her daughter is the one that gave Trent his nickname-Trent-buddy. I am excited to see them and catch up! I’m getting my hair finished on Friday and doing something different. I can not wait!!! And my cousin is coming up this weekend for a quick trip of baseball (if Trent’s game doesn’t get rained out) and subs. A nice distraction of scans. I can’t thank everyone enough for their support. It really does take a village to get through life. I never realized how big my village is and how many people are rooting and cheering me on until this!
