My ⚾️⭐️
My ⚾️⭐️
This week has been exhausting. It’s spring which means that baseball has overtaken our life more than normal. And if you didn’t know baseball in April is cold. Tonight Baelor had a scrimmage -I thought it was a practice so I ran home to change and grab a quick bite. My mom texts to ask if it is a game…no why? There’s another team taking the field 🤦🏻♀️.
Baseball this week has been a good distraction. Saturday night I have a brain mri. There is a lot riding on a stable or clean scan. I know I am starting radiation in two weeks because of progression on my lung. Progression on my brain brings on a lot of decisions that will need to be made. I’m nervous about having to decide on a second line of a treatment so soon.
Tuesday I asked Dr Piper if I could get a speciality tattoo instead of the traditional dots for radiation. i explained that I wanted a middle finger or an fu cancer. Or maybe a heart or smiley face. He laughed and said if I saw my drs art work I might not be requesting this. A girl can dream huh? lol
Still looking to do something different. I tried someyhing to get blue streaks in my hair. My hair is too dark so it didn’t work. Taking any and all suggestions.
Everyone tells me to reach out if I need anything. I am often to proud to ask for help or too embarrassed. But here goes. My biggest fear about radiation is my exhaustion. I’m worried that coming home after work (yes I’m still working-insurance is through me and it keeps my mind off of things) I’ll be too tired to cook. If anyone wants to help those five days it would be appreciated. It would actually only be 4 days (I have a friend whose church group brings us dinner every Thursday which I am so thankful for!).
And here is my other shameless plug. Lung cancer is something I will never be rid of. I want to do everything I can to advocate, educate, help fund as I can. I am doing a fundraiser for Lungevity. My goal is to walk 31 miles in 31 days of May. This is going to be a challenge since walking to the store is difficult at times. But if you want to donate, walk and raise funds with me it’s all appreciated!
