Ive never been a huge fan of the heat. But I’m also not a huge fan of ac’s. So I’ve always dealt with the heat. The humidity on the other hand…
Its been hot for a couple of weeks. Boston hit its first official heat wave two or three weeks ago. And of course our ac stopped working. Shoutout to our neighbor who came out and got us up and running for the heatwave!!!! It was a bandaid fix-we knew this. It lasted two weeks. We’ve had a company and an independent person come out to look at it. It got a complete fix because it wasn’t installed correctly on Friday.
Today I walked outside to take the dog out and everything melted. at 6:30 my car told me it was 97 degrees! How is that even possible??? I have yet to figure it out.
I also ran to several stores to pick up groceries. Thankfully I do a lot of online pickups. But I did decide to go into BJ’s. I parked in the handicap because I knew walking halfway across the parking lot would kill me.
But when I use the handicap spots I go back to my visit to cvs when the very nice gentleman told me I didn’t look handicap. (I responded that I could show him a picture of my lung cancer and I didn’t know being ignorant was a disability!). I wonder if people judge me bc I don’t look handicap. But the headache I have been fighting for the past week or the increased heart rate, or the breathing difficulties tell otherwise. You can’t see the fight I am fighting. In fact many people have hidden disabilities, we are all fighting a fight of some kind. It might be a health fight, employment, family.
Why can’t we be kind? When I came off Facebook a month ago a friend from high school was texting me. It meant so much to me that she took time out of her day to message me. I have been trying to be better about texting and checking in on my friends who I know have alot going on.
There’s not really a point to this blog except to be kind to people you meet. And try not to judg
Check on your neighbors during this heat! It’s dangerous and gross and often times people don’t like to ask for help!
