Where does the time go?  This picture was taken the day my never ending headache started. I’ll never forget the day.  Partially because of the company…partially because what came of that headache.

Cassie and I decided to take the kids to Connors farm in Danvers. I remember getting out of the car and mentioning I had a headache. I immediately grab a water because it was hot out and I didn’t want it to get worse.  As the day went on it continued on. But I had things I wanted to do there. I wanted to see everything with the kids and I wanted to pick apples so we continued on.  Cassie was great making sure that I had water and didn’t need anything. She controlled the boys and made the day so much more enjoyable.

The picture above was after a long day. Rides, corn pits, train rides, and apple picking.  I realized I didn’t get any pictures so off we went to get pictures.  It was a great day!  The following week I had my first of many appointments with my regular neurologist. Id see  him another 4-5 times before I had an MRI each time making a small change in my meds and telling me it would be okay.  When I finally had the MRI I was told there was something there but don’t worry it’s nothing major. We will rescan in 6 months to a year. We changed my meds again and I went on my way.  That was the last time I saw him.

the following day I was talking to a coworker who encouraged me to get a second opinion. I called Lahey Burlington and made an appointment for the end of November. Still having a headache I knew something wasn’t right but also didn’t want to admit something might be wrong. I kept telling Bryan “it’s not a tumor.”  Lol.

I tried everything to get rid of that headache. I was getting a massage every two weeks, I was taking excederin around the clock. I made sure my neurologist had my records and copies of the MRI.

I went to the appointment alone not thinking anything of it. She changed my meds around took me off my regular one to try a different one, gave me a new rescue med, a steroid pack,  and a recommendation for another MRI.

The earliest the could get me in for an MRI was January 13th. A month and a half later….And the rest is history. We all know what happened on the afternoon of Friday January 13, 2023.

It’s funny what we remember from two years ago .  I think that if I hadn’t had a migraine that day it wouldn’t have  remembered the exact date. It would have been a typical day with my bestie entertaining the kids while not going crazy.  Lol.

Don’t forget to always advocate for your health!  You are your best advocate. Here’s a couple of pictures from that day. The day that a headache was just a headache and nothing else to worry about.
