So thankful...

A couple of weeks ago Young Lung Cancer Initiative reached out and asked what I was doing with the kids over February Break.  We didn't have anything planned but the kids had mentioned a couple of things.  Both boys had parties, and would be spending time with grandparents (who always make sure that they are entertained)!

As a family we talked it over and the boys said they wanted to go and play lasertag.  They really enjoyed it for Trent's birthday.  Swimming was cancelled and we had talked with our swim friends about getting together.  A plan was made for 5 kids and two adults to go play laser tag.  The boys had a blast with their friends!  I cannot thank Young Lung Cancer Initiative for the opportunity to take them again!

For those of you that don't know about Young Lung Cancer Initiative:

It was started by a daughter who's parents were both diagnosed with lung cancer within a short period of each.  As she started doing research she learned that young adults (her age) were increasingly being diagnosed. She wanted to raise awareness, but also give us a place that we can talk, ask questions and connect with other patients like ourselves. I "met" her through an Facebook page shortly after her dad had been diagnosed.   I consider her a friend, and often turn to her when I have questions. She is a wealth of knowledge as she has really dove headfirst into all things lung cancer.

If you haven't checked out their website I highly recommend it.  ylci.org   It showcases the many faces of young lung cancer.  And the great work that YLCI has done.

They also have some cool merch to bring awareness around lung cancer in young adults.  Check out their tshirts here  Our T-Shirts - Young Lung Cancer Initiative .  I just reached out and said that a tshirt that says scanxiety is real needs to be made!  If it is I'll be sporting that to all my scans.
